Dance at Kyung Hee
College of physical education as department of dance was established at Kyung Hee University in 1966. School of dance was newly established in 2003 and had continued to prosper since its foundation. It produced many men of distinguished talent so became a stepping stone to play a pivotal in Korean education. At the same time, school of dance inherited the tradtional dance, and established the foundation for creative dance. Also it had an excellent faculty in dance & performing art-related areas.
Educational Goals
Korean Dance
The educational goal of Korean dance is to understand the pulse and flow of Korean dance. And also, freely use the basics form of fundamental structure based on Jeong(靜), Jung(中), Dong(動), and aims to enhance choreography ability and creative techniques through basic modifications.
Modern Dance
The Modern Dance’s educational goal is to analyzing the techniques that form the source of modern dance movements. In addition, by studying individual creativity and improvisation, it aims to increase the individual choreographer’s ability including motion expression skills.
Ballet
The aim of the Ballet’s education is to develop the high-quality of choreographer’s abilities. It is important to create a aesthetic sense and view of art by acquire and strengthen Bar Work and Center work to master the principle of ballet.
